Chen is a figurative and abstract artist residing in Northern California. She has been drawing and painting since 2001 and has an MFA from San Jose State in Pictorial Art.

The name Art Venus Studio came from the fact that Chen loves figure drawing and consider all the female subjects the embodiment of Venus when they are posing. Everyday is a great day when she gets to draw and paint from the figure. The energy and spontaneity of the human figure is a never-ending source of inspiration and intrigue.

Whereas the figurative work is something Chen shares with the others, her abstract work is created to express the inner journey that personal growth often entails.
